Scholarships at University of Guelph-Humber

Eligibility

1. Students entering the part-time degree completion programs (online or hybrid formats); Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies, Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Community Social Services, and Bachelor of Applied Arts in Justice and Public Safety

2. Available to Domestic and International Students

3. Re-admitted, non-degree and exchange students are not eligible for this award

Scholarship award levels

$2,000 for each recipient

International students who completed the IB diploma program or GCSE A-level credential who are entering post-secondary studies for the first time and registering in the first semester of a degree program in the fall or winter semester.

Students' Responsibilities

• Submit an application for admission.

• Ensure that my admission application is complete and all documents are received as requested by Admission Services, University of Guelph-Humber.

University's Responsibilities

• Consider your application for admission and your scholarship eligibility when the required curriculum-specific supporting documentation, as stated on the International Future Students webpage, is received. Successful recipients will be informed of their scholarship with their offer of admission.

• Apply the scholarship to your University of Guelph-Humber student account in two equal payments over the fall and winter semesters.

Conditions of Entrance Scholarships

• Successful completion of an IB diploma (min 30 points in Diploma) or

• Successful completion of General Certificate of Education with a minimum of 2 A-levels (final year average B or higher) 

• Recipients must register full-time for both the fall and winter semesters in year 1.

• Recipients must pay the International student tuition and fees.

• This award cannot be held with the University of Guelph-Humber Study in Canada Scholarship.

Scholarship payment terms

• Fall Semester start – current year’s fall and winter semester

• Winter Semester Start – current year’s winter semester and the following year’s fall semester

NOTE: Entrance scholarships cannot be deferred. Students who defer their offer of admission are reconsidered the following year based on the availability of scholarship for that cohort.

*Eligibility will be based on the admission offer average calculated by the University of Guelph-Humber's Admission Services. The University of Guelph-Humber will determine averages for applicants who are not studying in a Canadian secondary school curriculum based on curriculum, grading practices and grading scale interpretation.

**Students admitted in Fall 2021 and beyond and receiving an entrance scholarship are eligible to receive a $4,000 CAD award in years 2, 3, and 4 if all renewal criteria (see below) are met each year.

Note: Students admitted prior to fall 2021 are not eligible for a renewable scholarship.

Renewal criteria

1. Recipients must remain registered in full-time studies and achieve a minimum 80.0% average in their previous academic year of full-time study (fall/winter).

2. Recipients must continue to pay the International student tuition and fees.

Transfer Student Entrance Scholarship award levels

Eligibility

We will automatically consider all students entering a University of Guelph-Humber degree program who meet at least one of the following criteria:

• A completed two- or three-year diploma from a recognized institution with a minimum cumulative average of 75%

• At least one year of full-time studies completed at an accredited university with a minimum cumulative average of 75%

Depending on when you are admitted, you must register in a minimum number of credits per semester to receive the Transfer Student Entrance Scholarship.

Minimum credits required for scholarship

The Transfer Student Entrance Scholarship is not available to re-admitted students, internal applicants from the University of Guelph, non-degree students, and exchange students. This scholarship is not renewable.
