Toronto performs well in ShanghaiRanking's Academic Subjects ranking

The University of Toronto has performed well in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2022 released by ShanghaiRanking.

In total, the University ranked in the top 10 in eight subjects. including sociology (4th); medical technology (6th); psychology (7th); pharmacy and pharmaceutical science (8th); education (10th); finance (10th); public health (10th); and statistics (10th).

U of T President Meric Gertler said: “We are immensely proud to see the University of Toronto recognized for its expertise across such a diverse array of disciplines – a testament to the high quality of scholarship and research generated by our world-class faculty.

“Very few universities can match the sheer breadth of U of T’s excellence, from the medical sciences and engineering to the social sciences and humanities.”

The Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2022 looked at more than 5,000 universities in over 50 subject areas, measuring the performance of universities in terms of research output, quality and influence and academic awards.
