Overview

The University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) is a public research university established in 2002. It is one of Canada's youngest and most dynamic universities.

Ontario Tech University is a unique, industry-focused institution offering undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in business, education, social sciences, science, engineering, IT, health sciences, humanities, energy systems and nuclear science streams. With over 10,000 student population and 2,000 faculty members, Ontario Tech's main campus in the northern part of Oshawa is spread over approximately 400 acres of land. 

Students who graduated from thesis-based master's programs and doctoral programs, and have made significant contributions to their field of study are awarded with the Outstanding Thesis Award. The University also awards its faculty for teaching excellence.

More than 85% of upper-year graduate students benefit from experiential learning opportunities offered through internships, co-ops, practicums, research projects and similar projects.

Ontario Tech University has been ranked in several international post-secondary school rankings. The Governor General's Gold and Silver Medals are awarded annually to students with the best CGPA in their graduate and undergraduate programs, respectively.

Accommodation

Ontario Tech University accommodates students through Student Accessibility Services (SAS), which assesses the need for interim accommodations for students with disabilities and provides assistive technology. 

Hundreds of clubs, cultural and community events, recreational opportunities and facilities provide a stimulating experience of campus life to students. The Student Club of the Ontario Tech Student Union provides student services for all students living on Ontario Tech's campus.

There are two distinct residences on campus: Simcoe Village and South Village, managed by the Campus Living Center.

On-campus housing options at Simcoe Village and South Village residences provide housing to more than 1,300 students. The University also provides support for off-campus living resource needs and support for students and a homestay program for international students.

Ontario Tech is located in Oshawa, Durham Region, Ontario, Canada. The North Campus is the main campus located at 2000 Simcoe St. North, and there is a second campus located just 10 minutes away in the downtown area of ​​Oshawa.
