Overview

Founded in 1974, the University of the Fraser Valley is a highly reputed education institution in Canada. Located in the picturesque Fraser Valley of British Columbia, over 2100 international students study at the University, accounting for 20% of the total student population.

Small class sizes at the University are common, ensuring high engagement between tutors and students. Due to this, teachers can address the learning requirements of every student.

The University of the Fraser Valley provides over 100 courses to students across 30 subject areas including business, computer science and media. Abbotsford, Aerospace and Chilliwack are the main campuses of the university.

Services for International Students

Multilingual student support services are offered to international students. Additionally, airport pickup facilities are provided to arriving students along with information regarding medical insurance, academic and career advice, housing details, and more. Immigration workshops are also organised to resolve immigration-related queries and issues.

New international students are requested to join the Climb portal to complete their orientation. Details about essential things, live sessions, drop-ins, etc., are provided through this portal to acquaint them with the learning environment at the university.

New students can also explore the university campus through a virtual tour. Campus wayfinding tours are available once students enrol in one or more programs at the university.

Ranking

The University of the Fraser Valley is ranked 55th among Canadian universities. According to Unirank, it ranks 1725th in the World University Rankings.

Additionally, the university received 5-star ratings by QS Stars in Employability, Online Learning, Inclusiveness, Teaching, and Internalisation categories in 2021.
