Overview

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is the largest school board in Canada and one of the largest in North America. It was formed in 1998 and is located in Toronto, Ontario.

The Toronto District School Board serves approximately 247,000 students in nearly 600 schools throughout Toronto, Ontario. It is responsible for publicly funded education to students from junior kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners.

The TDSB offers various academic programs, including regular curriculum, French immersion, and specialized arts, science, and technology programs. It also provides extensive special education programs to support students with various learning needs, adult learning, and continuing education programs, such as adult high schools and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs.

  1. Application Form (Must be submitted through the online application portal)
  2. Copy of passport (photo page) or Birth Certificate
  3. Copy of Completed, Signed and Dated Letter of Recommendation.
  4. Copy of Most recent two-year transcripts or school report cards (certified or notarized)

The following documents must be submitted to ISAO before July 1 for September Entry and December 1 for February Entry or during the Reporting Stage:

  1. Copy of Custodian Declaration Form (Parents) (Notarized)
  2. Copy Custodian Declaration Form (Custodian) (Notarized)
  3. Proof of Custodian’s Status in Canada (Copy of Passport, Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card)
  4. Copies of two documents showing proof of address (for elementary students only)

Services for International Students

The TDSB provides language support services to help international students improve their English language skills and often offers orientation programs specifically designed for international students to help them acclimate to their new school environment and life in Toronto. These programs may cover Canadian culture, academic expectations, and support services available within the school and community.

About Location

A selection of secondary schools has been selected to host international student schools (Grade 9 to 12) throughout the City of Toronto in various communities. Placements will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
