The University of Toronto, University of British Columbia and McGill University have all been ranked in the global top 50 following the publication of the Time Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2023.
University of Toronto came in at 21st, followed by UBC in 36th, and McGill in 47th. U of T President Meric Gertler said: “This latest affirmation of the University of Toronto’s global reputation is based on the independent assessments of scholars around the world who are leaders in their respective fields.
“Our international stature reflects our excellence in teaching and research, and is a key factor in attracting outstanding students and faculty to our three campuses.”
The rankings are based on the world’s largest invitation-only survey of scholars, comprising more than 38,000 responses from 166 countries. Respondents were asked to select up to 15 universities that they consider to be the best in research, as well as universities they deem as being the best for teaching.
