1. University of Toronto
The University of Toronto (U of T) has had the privilege of being ranked the number one Canadian university for reputation by Maclean’s for the 6th year in a row.

In Maclean’s survey of best universities in Canada by reputation, it stands at the second position with particular backing from the leaders of the business world.

3. University of Waterloo
An undisputed leader in experiential learning and employer-student connections, the University of Waterloo ranked 3rd in the Maclean’s survey. In many other surveys, it has also been ranked #1, particularly on the parameter of experiential learning in the comprehensive rankings list done directly by students of the country. It is also the top ranking university for the subjects computer science, engineering and mathematics.
4. McGill University
Even though McGill University ranks 4th, it grabbed the second position in terms of the quality of education and research facilities available. Founded in 1821, McGill has been among Canada’s best-known institutions of higher education with students coming from more than 150 countries, accounting for almost 30% of the total student enrolment.
5. McMaster University
McMaster University is ranked 5h on the Maclean’s survey and is a centre of excellence that is devoted to the cultivation of human potential. By taking a collaborative approach to improving the lives of people, contributing to global knowledge, and also advancing the health and well-being of the world around. According to the 2021 Research Infosource Rankings, McMaster topped in graduate student research intensity by averaging $68,900 per graduate student.
