The Sherryl Kintu Scholarship was set up as a tribute to, and in recognition of, the passions and interests of Sherryl Kintu. A dedicated employee of Global University Systems (GUS) for nine years, Sherryl rose from Executive Assistant to a Director-level position. She sadly passed away in April 2021. Sherryl was known as a trustworthy friend to individuals and the company, with a deep passion and drive for everything she did. This scholarship is awarded to a female applicant that is a citizen of an African country in her honour.

Master of Management, Master of Data Analytics, Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications
Eligibility
This award is open to international female applicants with the citizenship of an African country in the applicable programs. Applicants must be approved for direct entry into the 2025 Summer or Fall term.
Award Value
A minimum of one student that is a citizen of an African country will be awarded a scholarship covering the full tuition of an accepted master’s program.

Personal statement: This statement (approximately 300 words) should describe how undertaking the applicable degree program at UNF will contribute to the applicant’s long-term career goals, clearly demonstrating passion, drive, innovation and ambition, as well a need for financial support. The personal statement submitted with the Scholarship and Awards Application is final; no updated personal statements will be reviewed.

Students must provide the required supporting documentation. Incomplete award applications will not be considered.

Students need only apply once to be considered for this award for the duration of their studies with UNF.

Awards are not transferable to another student.

The scholarship recipient is responsible for paying all fees not covered by the scholarship before the start of each term. Additional fees may include, but are not limited to, housing and accommodations, ancillary fees, library fees, health insurance, and health and wellness fees.

This scholarship is applicable only for on-campus, full-time studies and the scholarship recipient must have an approved and valid study permit.

This scholarship is not combinable with other entrance awards.

Eligible award applicants must be a direct admission recipient. Those requiring a preparatory program prior to their studies commencing are not eligible.

Financial awards may be deferred for a maximum of one (1) term from the original admission start term. Requests for a deferral must be made in writing to the Office of the Registrar.

Decisions of the UNF Scholarship Committee and the Sherryl Kintu Fund Board (SKFB) are final.

Students are required to remain in good academic standing, according to their programs specific grading scheme, term over term to continue receiving funding.

Should a student fall below the margin, but remain active in their program the following term and recover their term GPA to once again be declared as in good academic standing, they are eligible to once again receive the funding (not for the previously missed term; only moving forward for future terms)

Recipients must maintain the required registration status throughout the term of the award to remain eligible. If the recipient withdraws, the award will be refunded to UNF.
