With Canada ready to open its gate to 500,000 migrants over the next three years, there are hopes that at least 5,000 will be entrepreneurs. To help them get up and running, the Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC) aims to support 300 Indian startups and entrepreneurs in Canada by 2025.

The not-for-profit entity was formed in 1990 and assists the Economic Development Department of Ontario to help improve business practices at single and two-entrepreneur set-ups. They also educate school and university students about entrepreneurship through many courses that are run in association with the Toronto Public Library. TBDC also works with the government to assist people on welfare and those who are differently-abled to make them self-employed.

Till now, TBDC has supported 100-plus startups to enter Canada’s business landscape through the Startup Visa Program. They aim to support 300 Indian Startups and entrepreneurs in Canada by 2025.
